Theatre in the Rough Collection Lost to Fire

On March 12, 2006 a fire destroyed Holy Trinity Churchin Juneau, Alaska. Holy Trinity was the second oldest church in Juneau and the adjoining McPhetre's Hall had been a popular site for community events since the 1950's, and in recent years had become a popular venue for local theatre, opera, and music groups. Since the mid-1990's McPhetre's played host to work by Theatre in the Rough, a group established in 1991 by Aaron Elmore and Katie Jensen. In addition to performing in the hall, Theatre in the Rough rented storage space in the building. At the time of the fire the theatre's entire inventory of costumes, lighting instruments, sound equipment, stage weapons, hand-crafted puppets, stage platforms, tools, ladders - most everything really, was destroyed.
